A laptop is a mobile personal computer, also called a notebook. There are different kinds of laptops such as, desktop replacement, midsize, thin-and-light, ultra-portable, and tablet PC (authority) . A laptop is a type of computer with many advantages and disadvantages, though the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. A laptop is used for the many things such as, gaming, writing, media, and many more. A laptop is a mobile version of a desktop.
There are different classes of laptops such as, desktop replacement, midsize, thin-and-light, ultra-portable, and tablet PC. Ultra-portable are the smallest and lightest laptops. Very portable but lower spec, smaller screens, smaller keyboards and less features, 4 pounds or less . Expensive. Best for people who travel a lot. Midsize is for basic everyday use, limited battery life, 6-8 pounds . Thin-and-light combination of midsize and ultra-portable. Weigh 4-6 pounds.
Desktop replacement biggest and heaviest laptops, best performance, closest to desktop or tower, 7.5 pounds and up (cnet). Tablet PC best mobility, best battery life, less performance.
